Vacant Academic Positions in Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOE).

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following academic positions in the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences of the University:

  1. Professor
  2. Reader
  3. Senior Lecturer
  4. Lecturer I
  5. Lecturer II

Specific Departments in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, FUOE

  1. Anatomy
  2. Physiology
  3. Radiology and Radiation
  4. Medical Laboratory Science
  5. Nursing

Required Qualifications for the Various Positions at FUOE.

  1. Professor

    Candidates should be holders of B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD degrees in core areas of departmental field of study from recognized Universities with at least ten (10) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions. She/He must have spent a minimum of three (3) of those years as a Reader. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic and research leadership. Candidates must show evidence of at least twenty (20) scholarly publications in reputable local and international learned journals, six (6) of which must have been published in Scopus or ISI indexed journal plus registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

  2. Reader

    Qualifications are the same as in position (1) above, but with at least eight (8) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions. She/He must have spent a minimum of three (3) of those years as a Senior Lecturer. Candidates must possess at least fifteen (15) scholarly publications in reputable local and international learned journals, four (4) of which must have been published in Scopus or ISI indexed journal plus registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

    3. Senior Lecturer

    Qualifications are the same as in position (1) above, but with at least six (6) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions plus at least eight (8) scholarly publications in reputable local and international learned journals, two (2) of which must have been published in Scopus or ISI indexed journal plus registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

    4. Lecturer I

    Qualifications are the same as in position (1) above, but with at least three (3) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions plus at least five (5) scholarly publications in reputable local and international learned journals plus registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

5. Lecturer II

Candidates should be fresh PhD holders with at least two (2) scholarly publications in reputable local and international learned journals plus registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

Salary Scale

The salary scale and conditions of service for various positions shall be as obtainable in the Federal Universities in Nigeria.
